Reworking Dr Forrester

I pulled Dr Forrester out today to rework it for GMX.
This was it originally, last year for Halloween:

My Dr Forrester costume (MST3K) - Halloween 2012. This was the original version before I made the updates in 2013.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

I just made it very quickly and straight off the pattern, so it was too big. Which was fine for something fun and comfortable for work, but I wanted to rework parts of it to wear to a con.

I added some darts to the front and back, took up the sleeves, made a front facing, and added some pleated pieces to the side seams. It’s looking a little Gwen Stacy right now, isn’t it?

This jacket was originally made for Halloween 2012. It was just a simple "lab jacket" made for our Halloween work theme of "mad scientists." I added the Deep 13 logo using a heat transfer. When I got my Tom Servo in 2013, I decided to fix up the jacket a bit and make it a cuter costume to wear at cons. I took it and made it more fitted, and added a facing to the front panels and some pleated sections in the seams for some flounce.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

I still need to tweak it a little farther to get it fitted right, but it’s much better than it was. I’m wearing that black dress with it.

Otherwise today I’ve been working on Halloween commission stuff. Got a bit more to do on a few pieces.

Tomorrow I start my new job! I’m nervous, but so glad I never have to go back to the old place… it’s such a relief…
